The Vail Town Council will review recommendations for the 2021 summer parking program during its Tuesday, April 20 meeting. The action item is listed as 5.1 on the virtual evening meeting agenda which begins at 6 p.m. with opportunities for public comment. To register to provide public comment during the meeting, visit www.vailgov.com/town-council or to provide public input prior to the meeting, email publicinput.vailtowncouncil@vailgov.com.
Free public parking has returned to the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures as of 10 p.m. Sunday, April 11. All parking pass holders are asked to retain their cards for use during the summer season.
Vail Value cards will now be accepted for entry to the Red Sandstone parking garage for the remainder of the winter season in addition to their use for access to discount parking in the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures.
Overnight public parking in Vail will remain free throughout the summer as the town continues to scale its operations to adjust to the public health crisis. Vehicles may remain parked in the Vail Village and Lionshead garages for up to 72 hours, as well as the Red Sandstone garage on the North Frontage Road. Paid overnight parking was implemented during the 2018 summer season to increase available parking spaces during the day. However, due to the pandemic, the town is adjusting its operations to reflect a decrease in parking demand and reductions in seasonal staffing.
The Town of Vail will suspend paid parking in the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures effective at 6 p.m. today, March 14, to coincide with the pending suspension of operations on Vail Mountain. Daily and overnight parking will remain free in the structures until further notice.
