Make Your Voice Heard – Vote!

The Eagle County Clerk must receive your ballot no later than 7 p.m. Nov. 3. A Voter Service and Polling Center will be located at the Grand View on the top deck of the Lionshead parking structure to assist Vail voters with their ballots beginning Oct. 30. There, you can request a ballot for in-person voting, drop off your mail ballot, register to vote and make changes to voter registration and assist voters with disabilities.

2020 Sole Power Challenge Recap - Celebrating Ten Years of Human Powered Commuting

The annual Sole Power Green Commuting Challenge has completed its 10th year of the program while surpassing the 50,000 miles goal for human powered miles logged. Sole Power celebrated the end of the season with 280 participants logging 50,879 miles, which is a 32% increase over miles logged in 2019. Since the start of Sole Power in 2011, over 345,000 miles of human powered commuting has prevented 156 metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.

Season parking passes will be ready for purchase beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26 on the lower level of the Vail Municipal Building, 75 S. Frontage Road, with an added incentive for those who make their purchase early. The first 500 buyers will receive a voucher good for a free day of parking to be redeemed any time during the season, a value of $30. The Town of Vail’s celebration of America Recycles Day returns for its fifth year with a collection event for e-waste and paper shredding. America Recycles Day is held annually on Nov. 15. District Court Affirms Vail Town Council’s Approval of Booth Heights Development Application

Vail Town Council’s decision to uphold the Planning and Environmental Commission’s 2019 approval of the Booth Heights development application in East Vail has been affirmed by Eagle County District Court Judge Russell Granger. In an order issued earlier this week, Judge Granger found the Town Council neither exceeded its jurisdiction nor abused its discretion in its decision to approve the application.

Vail to Bring Back Temporary Wildlife Fencing in East Vail

The Town of Vail is bringing back temporary fencing that was installed last year in East Vail to reduce the potential for motor vehicle collisions with bighorn sheep and other wildlife. The fencing was constructed last April along the north side of the North Frontage Road following the loss of three bighorn sheep over several months.
