Town of Vail municipal offices, with the exception of the Town of Vail Public Library and the Police Records Office will be closed Monday, July 5 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Regular office hours for all town services will resume Tuesday, July 6. Transit services will operate uninterrupted throughout the holiday. Call 911 for police, fire or medical emergencies.

The Independence Day holiday also includes a closure of the Vail Public Library on Sunday, July 4; however, the annual book sale which begins July 3 will continue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 4 in the library’s Community Room. The book sale is also scheduled to take place from July 5-10 during the library’s regular hours of operation, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The Police Records Office in the Municipal Building will remain open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 5. The office is available for front counter service and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday each week; closed Sundays.

Residents are reminded that the July Fourth holiday may mean some schedule adjustments for local trash haulers. Contact your service provider to make sure you know which day your curbside trash removal will take place. Town of Vail wildlife protection regulations prohibit trash from being left at the curb other than on the day of collection.
