The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is resuming work on an Interstate 70 improvement project between Vail and Frisco. Remaining work consists of concrete sealing, in-lay striping and minor bridge improvements, all of which are temperature-sensitive and could not be completed before the project was suspended due to adverse weather in November 2009. Rotomilling, asphalt paving and extensive rehabilitation work on 16 bridges occurred last summer between East Vail and Silverthorne Hill.

Single lane closures are possible at various locations on eastbound and/or westbound I-70, between East Vail (mile 180) and Frisco (mile 201), Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.  A reduced speed limit of 45 mph will be in effect during work hours.

Only minor delays are anticipated during project hours but CDOT will monitor traffic and adjust and/or remove lane closures if long backups develop. All work is scheduled to be completed in July 2010.

Weekly lane closure information about this and other projects will be available at www.dot.state.co.us/TravelInfo/currentcond/ or by calling 511.  To receive project updates via e-mail, visit www.coloradodot.info and click on the cell-phone icon in the upper right-hand corner.  The link takes you to a list of items you can subscribe to, including I-70 West, Denver to Glenwood Springs.
