DELIVERIES RESTRICTED DURING TEVA MOUNTAIN GAMES
Contractors are advised that use of the public right-of-way for deliveries, staging and other work will be suspended from 8:30 a.m. June 3 to 10 p.m. June 6 to minimize impacts. The Teva Mountain Games will make use of multiple venues in Vail Village with set-up getting underway at 8:30 a.m. June 3. NO BUILDING INSPECTIONS ON JUNE 9
The building team of Community Development will be attending a post disaster assessment training seminar on June 9. Therefore, building inspections will not be available that day. Information on the training is available on the town’s website for anyone interested in attending. PARKING STRUCTURES OPEN
Both parking structures are open to parking following washing and striping. The usual preventive maintenance will continue throughout the summer with some smaller areas closed to parking. These should have minimal impact to guests.

CONSTRUCTION PARKING BLACKOUT DATES AT FORD PARK
The Town of Vail has identified a series of blackout dates for construction worker parking in Ford Park beginning June 15 to accommodate multiple programming in the park. The blackout dates for June are as follows: June15-20, June 22 and June 25-30. Additional blackout days will take place in July and August.

Notes from the construction progress meeting held June 1.
Construction projects are allowed to use the public-right-of-way from April 15 to June 25 with the exception of the Teva Mountain Games scheduled for June 3-6. Permitted construction hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with noise levels not to exceed 90 decibels.
(All scheduled activities are subject to change.)

VAIL VILLAGE
Solaris development, 143 E. Meadow Dr.
Four work areas are occurring on site:
• Streetscape improvements on East Meadow Drive. Asphalt paving on East Meadow Drive is now complete. The east side of Village Center Chute will be open for access during the games. Installation of pavers will begin June 7. Village Center Chute work includes new curb and gutter, landscape islands, heated concrete driving surface and heated paver sidewalks on both sides of Village Center Chute. East Meadow In-town bus route is being detoured via the Farmers’ Market/South Frontage Road route which will be in place until June 25. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
• South Frontage Road improvements. Work is ongoing and includes new sidewalk on the north side of the project and curb and gutter. There will be possible lane closures of the eastbound lane of South Frontage Road to facilitate construction.
• Ongoing plaza work. This work is continuing and is self-contained.
• Interior work. This work is continuing and is self-contained.

Vail Village Inn, 100 E. Meadow Dr.
Installation of heated, brick paver ADA walkway between Vail Village Inn and Solaris is scheduled to be completed by June 25. The gas line has been repaired and lowered to allow completion of the path.  There will be no impacts to Farmers’ Market. Contact Stephen T. Croke, Sawatch Land Co., (970) 376-4124.

Four Seasons development, One Vail Rd.
Sidewalk improvements from Mayors Park to the west end of the property are complete. Town of Vail landscapers will begin work in Mayors Park on June 7. Fire hydrant repair work is scheduled to start on June 7 and will include the sidewalk improvements along the South Frontage Road on the north side of the project. In addition, the brick paver sidewalk along Vail Road requires repair work and is also scheduled to start on June 7. Pedestrians will be detoured across Vail Road to the east side along the Gateway Building. Development includes 121-room hotel, plus 19 fractional residences and 16 private residences. Rams-Horn Lodge Condominiums redevelopment, 416 Vail Valley Dr.
Xcel Energy will be doing a bore under the sidewalk on Vail Valley Drive to complete the relocation of the gas line. Work is scheduled for June 14 and will require Chalet Road to be closed. Vail Valley Drive will also be down to one lane during this time near Chalet Road. Traffic Control will be provided.  Exterior stone and siding work is underway with deliveries of drywall to continue during June and site work to begin in August. Crosswalk construction on Vail Valley Drive scheduled for fall with location TBD. Development will be completed by the end of the year. Contact Andy Sandoval, G.E. Vail Mountain Lodge, 352 E. Meadow Dr.
Work involves demo and remodel of a creekside unit with January 2011 completion. Staging logistics are within the property of the Vail Mountain Lodge. Contact Dennis Thompson, George Shaeffer Construction, at (970) 390-6318.

Creekside Building, 223 Gore Creek Drive  
Five-week interior remodel of store space for Fuzzy Wigs. No staging will be allowed in the Children’s Fountain area. Trucks are required to use regular loading and delivery schedule. Contact Doug Allen, (970) 247-2770.

Mill Creek Circle Utility Work & Street Reconstruction
The project is currently out to bid. Includes water and sewer line replacement, replacement of the Mill Creek culverts, drainage improvements where required, Holy Cross Energy conduit installation and asphalt. Construction will run June to November. East Gore Creek Drive Closure
The Town of Vail will be closing East Gore Creek Drive to remove and replace the 4 ft. concrete pan that goes across the road. This is the main access to the Texas Townhomes area.  Work is scheduled for June 7 and must be completed by June 13. Chalet Road will be the detour route for access. LIONSHEAD
Lionshead Place Street Project
Concrete replacement from Arrabelle to Antlers Driveway has been completed and is open to two-way traffic. Concrete pour is scheduled to be complete by Noon on June 3.  Project is running ahead of schedule and will be finished in mid-July. Flaggers are in place. Contractor is Shaw Construction. Lion Square Lodge North redevelopment, 635 Lionshead Pl.

Ritz-Carlton Residences construction, 728 W. Lionshead Circle
Work will begin on lane and shoulder widening of South Frontage Road; no closures are anticipated. New curb and gutter and drainage improvement work to occur on West Lionshead Circle. Excavation of storm sewer along Frontage Road is ongoing. Pedestrian access is detoured to the Gore Creek heated sidewalk on the south side of the Ritz project. Antlers, 680 Lionshead Pl.
Roof and solar panel project underway, Project is self contained within the Antlers property. Crane is scheduled to be removed from courtyard this week; the Antlers garage will be open for parking and redirected check-in beginning June 4. Contact Scott Asburn of J.L. First Chair (formerly North Day Lot), 600 West Lionshead Circle
Foundation pour is taking place. East side utility work is substantially complete. Roadbase will be used on pedestrian walkway to accommodate access during Teva Mountain Games, but will require an additional closure to accommodate the concrete pour and paving operations. Utility work will occur on West Lionshead Circle and will require closure in late June. Working with Xcel to schedule utility work. Pedestrian walkway on east side of Landmark Building will be closed until June 25. Bicycle traffic is being detoured through the Main Vail roundabout. West Lionshead Gore Valley Recreation Trail Maintenance
Recreation path maintenance work will be completed this week on the Gore Valley Recreation Trail near the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District wastewater treatment plant on West Forest Road. The path was opened for the Memorial Day weekend, but will be detoured one day this week to compete shouldering work. The detour routes path users up to the South Frontage Road between West Forest Road and the Glen Lyon Office Building. It is anticipated that the path will be reopened by the end of the day Thursday. OUTLYING
West Vail Fire Station, 2399 N. Frontage Rd.
Stabilization of adjacent slopes and retaining wall construction could start later this week followed by excavation continuing through the remainder of the month. No impacts to vehicular or pedestrian traffic are expected in the forthcoming weeks and any associated impact will be scheduled in advance. Building shell construction will continue through the summer with interior finishes continuing through the winter. Project completion is scheduled for early 2011. Ford Park Landscaping
Includes landscape work beginning next week pending permit approval near the Amphitheater loading dock. No impacts anticipated to Betty Ford Alpine Gardens. General Contractor is Land Design by Ellison. Contact Brian Lantzy (970) 331-6128.
